I’m Sanne, founder of Formae. A mother of three, a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, and someone who has always been deeply drawn to art.

Originally from Amsterdam, I moved to Los Angeles, where my journey into motherhood took on a whole new meaning. The birth of my third child at home in LA was an incredibly transformative experience, giving me a deeper understanding of pregnancy in the US and just how powerful and beautiful our bodies truly are. During that time, I reflected on a concept I knew from Europe - creating timeless 3D sculptures of the female body. I realized how meaningful it would be to bring this to women in the US, celebrating not just pregnancy but all stages of womanhood.

Determined to bring this vision to life with the highest level of craftsmanship, I sought out a local bronze foundry in LA to collaborate with. After an extensive search, I found the perfect partner, ensuring that every sculpture is proudly designed and produced in Los Angeles, maintaining both quality and authenticity.

At Formae, we celebrate the strength, beauty, and resilience of women. Our bodies tell stories—of pregnancy, transformation, milestones, and self-acceptance. Every woman deserves to see herself as a work of art.
